- How To: Email Full Size iPhone 3GS Photos via Copy/Paste Dave wrote in asking TiPb how he could email full size, full quality photos from his iPhone 3GS. Sounds simple, right, but by default if you go into Camera Roll choose one or more photos, and then choose Share, the iPhone will crunch the image(s) down to 800×600. If, however, you use the copy command, then [...]

- iHacker Charlie Discloses iPhone SMS Security Vulnerability In an ideal world, Mac and iPhone hacker Charlie Miller would discover vulnerabilities, inform Apple, and Apple would then patch them before they had any chance of being exploited “in the wild”. Miller, however, prefers to keep them to himself so he can win MacBooks and detail them at Black Hat conferences. The good of the [...]

At least that's what Apple's Tom Neumayr said, according to CNN. "Apple will not distribute applications that contain inappropriate content, such as pornography.", says Neumayr.br /br /Interestingly, "Hottest Girls", an adult application, was already approved by Apple when the application hit the App Store. However, the application was quickly removed from the App Store.br /br /To be honest, I don't care much whether adult content is present at the App Store or not as long as there is proper parental control system in place.br /br /One way or another, this will be bad news for developers who are already working on adult applications and I think it would have been nice of Apple if they had warned developers earlier.div class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8544738770696584266-1707874243025842969?l=iphone.blogvasion.com'//div pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/ieyb8eCCg7ld7cgOW7UxqZUVHxE/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/ieyb8eCCg7ld7cgOW7UxqZUVHxE/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/ieyb8eCCg7ld7cgOW7UxqZUVHxE/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/ieyb8eCCg7ld7cgOW7UxqZUVHxE/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Blogvasion/iPhone/~4/w6bIOyRL6Go" height="1" width="1"/
- Unlocking and Jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.0 Yesterday, when I was just about to head to my bed, I noticed on the Dev Team blog that finally Ultrasn0w had arrived. Half asleep, I decided to give it a try. When I bought my iPhone 3G, it was already unlocked and jailbroken by the shop. So, I'm a rookie in this respect. As promised, I'm writing about my experience with the upgrade process. Hopefully, this post will be useful if you have not upgraded to OS 3.0 yet and plan to do so. Let's start.br /br /Overall, the process went smoothly and took about 40 minutes. As long as you follow a couple of easy steps, you shall have no problems.br /br /strongSTEP 1./strong The first step is very easy. You just connect your iPhone to your PC, start iTunes and use upgrade your iPhone to OS 3.0. Once this has been done, your iPhone will have OS 3.0 on board. However, as expected your iPhone won't be able to register on your cellular operator. DON'T PANIC. This will be sorted our quickly.br /br /strongSTEP 2./strong As a step two, you run the redsn0w application. Here is a link for the redsn0w web site a href="http://redsn0w.com/" target="_blank"http://redsn0w.com//a. I downloaded the app via the official torrent. You are welcome to use any of the numerous mirrors.br /br /This step involves a tricky moment. You shall switch your iPhone in a so called DFU mode. It may take you a couple of tries before you succeed (it took me two). I highly recommend visiting this link a href="http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034" target="_blank"http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034/a. You can find a detailed instruction and a video there.br /br /Also, you shall install either Cydia or Icy. In the past, I used to have Cydia and it is very cool. Now, I decided to go with Icy. You select this when you run redsn0w.br /br /One more thing with this process is that you will have to locate the OS 3.0 image downloaded by iTunes. On Windows Vista and Windows 7 you typically find it in this location: "C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates" where USER is your Windows username.br /br /strongSTEP 3./strong Run Cydia or Icy and add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com. As you know, in ultrasn0w the last O before "w" is a digit zero not O. So, keep this in mind.br /br /strongSTEP 4./strong Search for "ultrasn0w" in Cydia or Icy and install ultrasn0w. Please note that, when you first run Cydia or Icy, it may take a while before the repos are updated.br /br /strongSTEP 5./strong Reboot your iPhone.br /br /span style="color:#cc0000;"emPLEASE NOTE: According to the Dev Team, T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w!!!/em/spanbr /br /So, the process is quite straightforward and simple and generally, you shall not experience any difficulties. If I did this easily, you shall do easily as well. Again, this was a first hand experience from a total rookie :)div class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8544738770696584266-3794977792245794126?l=iphone.blogvasion.com'//div pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/Wl9Fenfe1WZ4dCnQohKhq54fs8w/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/Wl9Fenfe1WZ4dCnQohKhq54fs8w/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/Wl9Fenfe1WZ4dCnQohKhq54fs8w/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/Wl9Fenfe1WZ4dCnQohKhq54fs8w/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Blogvasion/iPhone/~4/neZ5JBL17T0" height="1" width="1"/
- TweetDeck - The Best Twitter Client for iPhone? a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_UwePAMT2t7g/SkFJWmi3nsI/AAAAAAAAAzc/tJX2E4SbMpo/s1600-h/IMG_0001.PNG"img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350638484945608386" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_UwePAMT2t7g/SkFJWmi3nsI/AAAAAAAAAzc/tJX2E4SbMpo/s320/IMG_0001.PNG" //aTo admit, I don't use a Twitter client on my desktop computer. This may sound dumb, however, I'd rather stick to a browser and the Twitter web site as is. Generally, I'd rather have everything in browser... well maybe some day.br /br /However, when it comes to iPhone, I really like specialized applications. For example, Facebook has a really cool iPhone version of the site for the Safari browser. Yet, I prefer the standalone application.br /br /I'd been using Twittelator for accessing Twitter from my iPhone for months. I really liked Twittelator, however, it does have some annoyances (well not precisely annoyances but lack of functionality I'd say). But Twittelator is FREE, which makes it a very good and decent app. And here comes TweetDeck. Which is also free and which is a far better application (this is my very personal opinion and I did not intend to offend Twittelator developers in any way :). TweetDeck belongs to a commercial-level software and it's so cool to see this app free.br /br /As I have mentioned above, I don't use any Twitter clients on my desktop, however I've heard that TweetDeck is one of the most popular desktop clients for Twitter.br /br /So, if you have not a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=318518757amp;mt=8" target="_blank"downloaded/a TweetDeck for your iPhone, I highly recommend this application.div class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8544738770696584266-7436385608693648916?l=iphone.blogvasion.com'//div pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/YESxE32lIFeRj39p_K8wqNttNTg/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/YESxE32lIFeRj39p_K8wqNttNTg/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/YESxE32lIFeRj39p_K8wqNttNTg/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/YESxE32lIFeRj39p_K8wqNttNTg/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Blogvasion/iPhone/~4/A_qCWWV5kkU" height="1" width="1"/
- Challenge Boredom with Drums Challenge img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 214px;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349866946153534114" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_UwePAMT2t7g/Sj6LpIkV0qI/AAAAAAAAAzU/OTHstDbOYGY/s320/printScreen02.jpg" /A while ago I was reading a research report about iPhone applications. According to that report, too many application in Apple App Store are totally useless and aren't worth a penny. To be honest, the game that you will learn in a moment about, belongs to a category, which I used to consider totally useless. However, after playing around with this game, I've really changed my mind.br /div/divbr /divDrums Challenge developed by MusiGames Studio is played by tapping on a virtual drum kit on an iPhone or iPod Touch and players challenge drummers of different styles such as jazz, blues, funk, rock, metal, punk, Latin and reggae. Each battle takes place when the opponent starts playing a song on the drums. After a sequence of notes is played, the user has to repeat the sequence of drum beats, playing each drum part with the correct timing.br /br /Believe me, Drums Challenge is a really challenging game and entertainment is guaranteed whether you are sitting in a queue at a doctor's reception or traveling or just sitting at home.br /br /Each of the 25 drum battles presents a unique challenge in terms of rhythm, style and music perception. While the player advances, defeating better and better drummers, they receive special drum parts that are then available to use in the freestyle mode. This is another aspect of the application that is really interesting.br /br /Drums Challenge can be a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=317080099amp;mt=8" target="_blank"purchased exclusively through the Apple App Store for $2.99/a.br /br /Happy drumming!/divdiv class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8544738770696584266-580727501547570480?l=iphone.blogvasion.com'//div pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/s70yA05WwD13-1A-RK9p868Qb-4/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/s70yA05WwD13-1A-RK9p868Qb-4/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/s70yA05WwD13-1A-RK9p868Qb-4/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/s70yA05WwD13-1A-RK9p868Qb-4/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Blogvasion/iPhone/~4/5C_Vpqm1Cdk" height="1" width="1"/

- Protect Your Sensitive Information with SafeWallet Personally I carry a lot of sensitive and private information on my iPhone. This includes a couple of credit card numbers, over two dozen passwords, several bank account numbers and more. Storing this type of information in a clear text format may be the most stupid decision one can make. Therefore, we need some sort of protection. That's when security applications enter the game.br /br /a href="http://www.sbsh.net/"SBSH Mobile Software/a has recently released SafeWallet for iPhone/iPod Touch. - Surfing Facebook May Endanger Your Employment The title of this post may sound slightly exaggerated, however losing a job was literally what has happened to an employee of a Swiss insurance company.br /br /The story is simple and sad at the same time. The woman said she could not work in front of a computer as she needed to lie in the dark. However, she was then seen to be surfing the Facebook. This statement was made by her employer Nationale Suisse. This fact has destroyed the company's trust in the employee. As a result, the woman has been fired.br /br /The fired woman says that she was indeed in bed and was surfing Facebook from her iPhone. Moreover, she accused her employer of spying on her and other employees by sending a mysterious friend request which allows access to personal online activity. Of course the company quickly rejected the accusations. According to the official information, employee's Facebook activity had been stumbled across by a colleague in November, before use of the social network site was blocked in the company.br /br /What do you think about this story? - Radial 50 - A New Take on the Arcade Legend img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 214px" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327609581269854866" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_UwePAMT2t7g/Se94r_GOqpI/AAAAAAAAAys/P2PuXVZ_Mvc/s320/Radial50-gameplay.jpg" /I must admit that Breakout remains one of my favorite games of all time. After all, Breakout was the first game that I've played on a computer back in 1980s. From a programmer's perspective, Breakout is a sort of game (along with Columns of course) that every game programmer must develop. I've played all sorts and flavors of Break out from very traditional to very odd and sometimes bizarre versions.br /br /There is no doubt that iPhone has given the second life to the arcade game genre. While iPhone is a device with enough power to handle sophisticated 3D shooters, arcade is something that perfectly fits the wonder device. Accelerometer doesn't play the least role in this. It's a real pleasure and more action to play accelerometer-enabled games.br /br /The folks at Roundthird have developed a cool Breakout-style game for iPhone called Radial 50. This is probably the most peculiar and novel variation of this game. "Radial 50 expands on the arcade classic by allowing players to control the paddle and ball around a 360-degree environment. The objective is different from the classic, as you are focused on defeating the central target rather than the often painful chore of eliminating all targets".br /br /To admit I was sort of puzzled when I first heard about Radial 50. However, after watching the video I immediately admitted that Radial 50 would become one of the most addictive games for iPhone.br /br /object width="400" height="300"param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=4244254amp;server=vimeo.comamp;show_title=1amp;show_byline=1amp;show_portrait=0amp;color=amp;fullscreen=1"br /embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=4244254amp;server=vimeo.comamp;show_title=1amp;show_byline=1amp;show_portrait=0amp;color=amp;fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="300"/embed/objectbr /a href="http://vimeo.com/4244254"Radial 50 Demo/a from a href="http://vimeo.com/radial50"Radial 50/a on a href="http://vimeo.com/"Vimeo/a.br /br /For now enjoy the video and stay tuned. Yes, there will be a prize valued at over $13,000 for one lucky customer. Namely, the prize consists of a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule, and a MacBook Pro.br /br /Downloading a new app via your computer, iPhone or iPod touch is what you need to to do to participate. If you don't own an iPhone or iPod touch, you can still participate in the promotion by completely filling out an a href="http://www.apple.com/itunes/billion-app-countdown/entryform/" target="_blank"alternative form/a.br /br /As you can see the App Store is a huge success. The following figures vividly illustrate this. As of today, over 5 million applications are downloaded from the App Store every day. This is up from a rate of 4.76 million applications per day in January and 2.2 million in December.
